The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Office of Refugee Affairs prepared a special report on the conditions of IDP camps in northwestern Syria. The report stressed the urgent need to provide urgent support to the IDP camps to help their residents cope with the harsh winter conditions.
The report indicated that there are about 1,160 IDP camps in northwestern Syria, adding that they are home to about 1.5 million people who are living in extremely dire conditions.
The Office pointed out that the unofficial camps are in urgent need for aid in view of the shortages in relief aid they are receiving and the lack of sanitation, potable water and healthcare.
The Office stressed the need to draw attention to the plight of IDP in northwestern Syria and provide them with support before the winter sets in. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
