On Monday, the political committee of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) convened its periodic meeting to address pressing issues concerning the ongoing campaign to deport illegal immigrants in Türkiye and its impact on Syrian refugees.
During the meeting, President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, provided a comprehensive briefing on his communications with Turkish authorities regarding the deportation matter. Additionally, the joint Syrian-Turkish committee presented an update on their efforts to handle deportation cases that have affected a number of Syrian refugees in Türkiye. The committee also discussed the major legal challenges confronting Syrian refugees in the country.
Deliberations among attendees led to the formulation of various proposals that will be thoroughly studied and later discussed with Turkish authorities. These proposals aim to address the legal status of Syrian refugees residing in Türkiye.
Furthermore, the political committee reviewed the outcomes of their communications with the Turkish Ministry concerning the treatment of cancer patients in the liberated areas. Notably, concerted efforts between the SOC, the Syrian Interim Government, and the Turkish government have been initiated to address this pressing issue and provide necessary medical support to those in need.
