The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee held its periodic meeting under the chairmanship of SOC’s president Nasr Al-Hariri to discuss the latest developments in Syria.
The committee discussed the treacherous attack by the Russian occupation forces on a position belonging to the Free Syrian Army in rural Hama at dawn today. They called on the international community to immediately take a firm stance towards the Assad regime and its backers’ insistence on pursuing a military solution and violating all agreements, which disrupts all efforts to reach a political solution.
Al-Hariri stressed the need for the SNA groups to raise combat readiness to confront any possible treacherous aggression, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities with regards to these violations aimed at escalating the situation.
The political committee also discussed the preparations for the upcoming round of talks by the Constitutional Committee. It also reviewed the reports on the work of the SOC’s departments, offices and committees as it discussed the SOC General Assembly’s preparations for its upcoming meeting which will begin tomorrow and will last for two days.
