The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee convened to discuss the latest on the ground and political developments as well as the major issues at the organizational and administrative levels.
Participants focused on the recent visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Damascus as they discussed the circumstances of the visit and its implications.
Members of the committee also discussed the SOC’s national political vision as well as the national discourse. They also approved the recent amendments before issuing them in their final form.
Participants discussed a mechanism for promotions for the Syrian National Army, police and security officers who have defected from the Assad regime. They also discussed amendments to the relationship between the SOC and the Syrian Interim Government in order to facilitate the latter’s work and enable it to improve services in the liberated areas.
They also touched on the issue of human rights and discussed the formation of the Syrian National Commission for Human Rights. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
