The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Political Committee held a regular meeting on Wednesday and Thursday in the presence of President Salem Al-Meslet. It discussed the latest field and political developments in Syria as well as reviewed the reports of the SOC’s offices, departments and committees.
Al-Meslet spoke about his meeting with the Dutch special envoy to Syria who reaffirmed his country’s support for the demands and rights of the Syrian people; refusal to rehabilitate the regime and lift sanctions off it; and contribute to the reconstruction process before a political solution is reached in accordance with UN resolution 2254.
Vice President Abdulahad Astepho gave an overview on the meetings that the SOC’s Department of Foreign Relations held with the Dutch and German Foreign Ministry.
Secretary-General Haytham Rahmeh talked about the activities of the General Secretariat as he stressed the importance of following up the expansion process.
Moreover, Coordinator of the Department of Strategic Relations, Ahmed Tomeh, presented an evaluation of the latest briefing of the UN envoy Geir Pedersen.
The committee reviewed the work reports of the Office of Unions and Sports Federations, the Office of Political Parties and Movements, the Committee of Religious Relations, the Syrian Women’s Authority, the Office of Studies and Documents, and the Military Liaison Committee.
