The Political Committee of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) convened its regular meeting on Monday to discuss various reports from departments, offices, and committees, as well as the current field and political situation in Syria.
During the meeting, the attendees expressed concern over the escalating arrest campaign conducted by the Assad regime in Daraa. They issued a warning regarding the potential launch of a military operation in the region, which could result in further crimes such as killings and forced displacement against the residents.
Abdullah Kaddo, the Coordinator of the Department of Political Parties and Movements, shared details about their meeting with leaders from the Syrian Republican Party. The discussion focused on the latest political developments and mechanisms for communication between Syrian political parties and movements. Kaddo emphasized the department’s ongoing efforts to maintain communication with various Syrian political entities.
Salim Idris, the Coordinator of the Office of Refugee Affairs, provided updates on the conditions of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, as well as the situation of displaced individuals in northwestern Syria following recent airstrikes by Assad’s warplanes. He also addressed the state of the Rukban refugee camp and highlighted the recent delivery of aid to the camp by the Syrian Emergency Task Force.
