President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, and President of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, Badr Jamous, met with the British Special Envoy to Syria, Ann Snow, on Sunday, during their participation in the 21st Doha Forum. The discussions centered around the latest developments in the political process in Syria.
The meeting underscored the significance of the United Kingdom’s role in supporting the Syrian people and fostering the political process to achieve a resolution in line with Resolution 2254. The aim is to fulfill the demands of the Syrian people in constructing a state founded on principles of freedom, justice, and law.
There was also a strong emphasis on the critical nature of the situation in Syria, highlighting the potential danger if the international community fails to take serious action to advance the political process in accordance with UN Resolution 2254. Al-Bahra cautioned against the humanitarian crisis in Syria escalating into a disaster due to continued international neglect. He stressed that humanitarian crises, rooted in political causes, cannot be resolved solely through humanitarian means. Therefore, addressing the underlying political causes and developing solutions through the political process is imperative.
