President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, sent a letter to US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, urging him to work to revitalize the political process in Syria and reach a political solution that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom and dignity in accordance with UN resolutions, most importantly UN resolution 2254.
“We are keen to have a sovereign, unified and representative Syria that is at peace with itself and its neighbors,” Al-Hariri said.
“We are working in Syria for a democratic model that ensures great sustainable peace and prosperity for our country that would become self-reliant, liberated from the shackles of dependence on others.”
Al-Hariri stressed that the SOC is seeking to engage “all components of our country including women, ethnic and religious minorities in the decision-making process, and respecting the rich diversity of our society considered to be one of its strengths.” (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
