President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, met with the Turkish ambassador to Germany Ahmet Başar Şen in Berlin and discussed with him the importance of moving the political process forward to achieve a political transition that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, dignity and democracy.
Al-Meslet was accompanied by SOC’s Vice-President Abdulahad Astepho and the SOC’s representative in Germany Fadel Al-Rifai. Al-Meslet stressed the need to advance the political process in accordance with UN resolutions on Syria, especially resolutions 2118 and 2254.
Al-Meslet also stressed that holding criminals accountable is an essential part of the solution in Syria, stressing also the importance of releasing detainees and disclosing the fate of the missing in Assad’s prisons.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in the liberated areas, and the need to improve basic services and living conditions by supporting the Syrian Interim Government.
