Hadi Al-Bahra, the President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), engaged in a video call with the British envoy to Syria, Ann Snow, to discuss the latest field and political developments in Syria.
During the conversation, Al-Bahra emphasized the necessity of heightened international efforts to reactivate the political process. He called for active and friendly countries to play a substantial role in pressuring the return of Syria to the list of global priorities and the implementation of UN resolutions on Syria, with a particular focus on Resolutions 2118 and 2254.
Both parties delved into the latest United Nations initiatives to reinvigorate the political process, despite ongoing obstructions by the Assad regime. Al-Bahra underscored the importance of preserving stability in the liberated regions of northern Syria, as well as the necessity of supporting healthcare, education, and essential services to enhance living conditions in those areas.
Al-Bahra also provided an overview of the challenges faced by Syrian refugees in neighboring countries, especially in Lebanon. He emphasized the crucial role played by the United Kingdom in addressing the Syrian crisis and commended its support for the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom, justice, and democracy.
The British envoy, in response, reaffirmed her country’s unwavering commitment to supporting the political process in accordance with UN resolutions. She pledged ongoing political, humanitarian, and legal support for the Syrian people.
