President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Nasr al-Hariri, met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The two sides discussed the bilateral relations and the latest on the ground and political developments in Syria.
Al-Hariri gave an overview on the political process and the results of the fourth round of talks by the Constitutional Committee. He highlighted the Assad regime’s continued attempts to disrupt the work of the committee and to prevent reaching a political solution in accordance with UN resolutions, most notably the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN Resolution 2254.
The two sides also discussed the humanitarian situation in the liberated areas as al-Hariri stressed the need to step up humanitarian and relief support for civilians as well as for the Syrian Interim Government to enable it to effectively administer these areas. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
