President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Nasr Al-Hariri, met with the Union of Workers in the Supreme Hajj Committee and the Supervisory Committee and discussed with them ways to combine officials with the same specialization within one institution so as to facilitate communication, make their work easier, and unify efforts as much as possible. The meeting brought together Coordinator of the Office of Syndicates and Unions, Abdullah Majid Barakat, and representatives of the Hajj Workers Union.
Members of the Union of the Hajj Workers affirmed their keenness to work under the SOC’s umbrella. Participants discussed the Union’s vision to ensure the rights of the workers and supplement the Hajj Committee with projects for workers and administrators.
The meeting is part of the SOC’s efforts to rally Syrian specialists at home and abroad into social, legal and union frameworks with the aim of benefiting from their expertise.
The Union of Hajj Workers is composed of the General Commission which nominates the Council of the Syndicate. The project that gets the biggest number of votes is tasked with forming the executive office of the Union.
