Salem Al-Meslet, the President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), held a meeting in Istanbul on Sunday with key American officials. He engaged in discussions with Ethan Goldrich, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Special Envoy for Syria, Nicholas Grainger, Director General of the Syrian Regional Platform at the US State Department, and Sonila Hysi, USAID Director of the Regional Office of Acquisition and Assistance.
The meeting revolved around discussing the latest political developments and the ever-evolving situation on the ground in Syria. Particular attention was paid to recent developments in Deir Ezzor, as well as the anti-regime movement gaining momentum in Suwayda and Daraa, situated in southern Syria.
The meeting also saw the presence of SOC’s Vice-Presidents, Abdulahad Astepho and Ruba Habboush, alongside Zuhair Muhammad, a member of the political committee, and Anas Abdah, a member of the General Assembly.
