President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, received a delegation from the Association of Independent Syrian Kurds headed by Chairman of the Association Abdulaziz Tammo and his deputy Radeef Mustafa at the SOC’s office in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in Syria ten years after the outbreak of the Syrian revolution.
Al-Hariri warmly welcomed the delegation as he offered congratulations to all the Syrian people on the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution. He commended the resilience and tremendous sacrifices the Syrian people are making to regain freedom, dignity and democracy.
Al-Hariri talked about the political situation in general as he gave an overview on the SOC’s activities in recent months, especially the successful visits to the State of Qatar and Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
He reaffirmed commitment to the unity of the Syrian people as a source of their strength.
For his part, Tammo congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution, commending the SOC’s decision to set March 21 as an official holiday in the liberated areas. He also lauded the positive impact of the SOC’s visit to Iraqi Kurdistan Region and its meeting with representatives of the Kurdish National Council in Erbil and the leadership of the regional government.
Tammo stressed that these steps indicated that the SOC is the representative of the Syrian people in their entirety, noting that the Syrian Kurdish political movements need to be rooted in their people and in their region.
He pointed out that the Association, as a component of the SOC, is carrying out its national duty to serve the Syrian people in the areas freed from terrorist organizations. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
