President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, received a phone call from US’s Acting Special Representative for Syria Engagement Aimee Cutrona and discussed with her the latest developments in Syria.
Al-Hariri focused on the latest developments on the ground, especially the crimes being committed by the Assad regime and Russia against civilians and their escalating attacks on many villages and towns in northwestern Syria.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the political process, the results of the sessions of the Constitutional Committee, and the disastrous humanitarian situation in Syria. Al-Hariri stressed the need to renew the mandate for the delivery of humanitarian aid through border crossings outside the control of the Assad regime.
They also discussed preparations for the upcoming Brussels conference on Syria as Al-Hariri expressed his appreciation for the US efforts to support the Syrian people in their quest for freedom, dignity and democracy.
Al-Hariri stressed the need to revitalize the political process in order to reach a political solution based on the implementation of UN resolutions, especially the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN Resolutions 2118 and 2254. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
