President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Nasr Al-Hariri, sent a congratulatory letter to Head of the Libyan Presidency Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, expressing his best wishes for Libya to usher in a new era of freedom and democracy.
On behalf of the SOC and the Syrian people, Al-Hariri offered his sincere congratulations to Al-Menfi on his election as head of the Libyan transitional council.
Al-Hariri expressed his hope that agreement by the Libyan parties would open a new chapter of cooperation at the popular and political levels under a national unity government that abide by institutional and legal frameworks; respects democracy; and works to reunify state institutions and ensure security.
Moreover, Al-Hariri stressed that achieving these goals will take the country to more stability, prosperity and reconstruction; serve the interests of the brotherly Libyan people; and help achieve some goals of the revolution.
Al-Hariri reiterated his thanks to the people and government of Libya for their political stances towards the Syrian revolution and for their permanent support for the Syrian people. He said that the SOC stands ready to work with the Libyan interim government, reaffirming that the success of this step and the continuation of the positive path will also be an asset for the Syrian people who are fighting for freedom and justice.
