President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, sent a letter of solidarity to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba regarding the repeated Russian attempts to threaten the security and stability of the friendly state of Ukraine.
On behalf of the Syrian people, Al-Meslet expressed his full solidarity with the leadership and people of Ukraine. He denounced all attempts to destabilize Ukraine and violations of international law that would undermine the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Al-Meslet pointed out that the Syrian people have been suffering from the terrorism of the Assad regime and its allies for over a decade. He added that the Syrian people can now distinguish between the friendly countries that stand by their cause and support their struggle, and those that support the killing of innocent civilians.
Al-Meslet stressed the need for the international community to take action in order to confront the increasingly colonial behavior by states that support dictatorships and oppose the rights of peoples to freedom and dignity.
He stressed the SOC’s keenness to maintain the fraternal and distinguished relations with the State of Ukraine and strengthen these relations so as to serve the interests of the Syrian and Ukrainian peoples.
