President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the family of the late hero Abdul Qader Al-Saleh in the town of Marie in northern rural Aleppo. They met with his brother, several relatives, and paid respects at his shrine.
Al-Bahra emphasized that Al-Saleh had sacrificed himself for a better future for Syria and its people. He remarked that Al-Saleh’s blood serves as a solemn reminder for those continuing to resist the Assad regime and its allies.
The brother of Al-Saleh, also known as “Haji Marie,” Muhammad Al-Saleh, shared insights into the conditions of the fallen hero’s family in Marie. He briefed the SOC delegation on their living situation and the general conditions in Marie.
SOC’s Vice President, Abdul Majeed Barakat, highlighted the significant role played by the late Al-Saleh in defending innocent people and advancing the revolution’s goals of freedom and justice.
Jihad Marai, Head of the Syrian Tribal Council and a member of the accompanying delegation, emphasized the importance of reinstating the values of the true revolution in society. He underscored the substantial sacrifices made by the Syrian people to achieve these values and objectives.
Al-Saleh passed away in November 2013 after sustaining injuries in a bombing by Assad forces targeting the Infantry School in Aleppo. He founded the Tawhid Brigade within the Free Syrian Army in Aleppo, assumed leadership, and led numerous military operations to liberate the city and its countryside.
