President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, visited the Syrian Tribal Council in rural Aleppo as part of a regular tour by the SOC in the liberated areas.
Al-Meslet was accompanied by Secretary of the SOC’s political committee Abdel Majid Barakat, SOC’s members Badr Jamous, Bahjat Al-Atassi, Munther Serras, Ahmed Al-Shehadi, Najib Rahmoun, Asaad Allito, Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, and Atef Zureik.
Al-Meslet stressed the important role of the Syrian tribal communities in the revolution and in strengthening the unity of the Syrian social fabric. He stressed the need to combine the efforts so as to better serve the goals of the Syrian Revolution, most notably building a democratic state that guarantees the rights and dignity of all its citizens. He pointed to the importance of holding more consultative meetings to achieve tangible work that serves our revolution and people in the liberated areas.
Al-Meslet reiterated the commitment to the goals of the Syrian Revolution and the demands of the Syrian people to overthrow the Assad regime and regain freedom, dignity and democracy.
