President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, and his accompanying delegation visited the office of the Syrian Tribal Council in the Sajo region in rural Aleppo, where he met with members of the Council and discussed with them the measures that the SOC has recently made as part of the reform and expansion processes.
The meeting brought together Secretary of the SOC’s political committee, Abdel Majid Barakat, members of the political committee Abdel Basset Abdel Latif and Yahya Maktabi, and members of the General Assembly Firas Al-Masri, Faisal Sultan, Najib Rahmoun, Atef Zureik and Asaad Alito.
Al-Meslet stressed the importance of the reform process, pointing out that it is not over yet, and will be followed by subsequent steps, especially the representation of effective components on the ground.
Al-Meslet made it clear that there is a great need to enhance cooperation and coordination, and create an atmosphere of harmony and cohesion to complete the reform process and face the upcoming challenges.
He pointed out that the success of the revolution’s forces, including political, civil and military institutions, in representing the effective components will allow the SOC to gain true, popular representation, strengthen its legitimacy, and reflect positively on the situation on ground and on the political process.
