The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) presidential, headed by Nasr Al-Hariri, on Monday held its first meeting to discuss the SOC’s vision for the upcoming period as well as the challenges facing the Syrian revolution at the internal and international levels.
Participants in the meeting also included the SOC’s Secretary-General Abdelbaset Abdullatif and Vice-President Oqab Yahya as well as VPs Abdel-Hakim Bashar and Ruba Habboush who talked via video links.
They stressed the need to develop the work of the SOC’s committees and departments, its various institutions, and its executive arms, especially the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit.
They also stressed the necessity of strengthening the SOC’s legitimacy by heading to the liberated areas and working with the revolution’s institutions, civil society organizations, and components of the Syrian society.
Moreover, members of the presidential body discussed the SOC’s plan of action plan at the regional and international levels as they stressed the need to increase effectiveness in cooperation with friendly states and open new channels of communication with Arab and international parties.
