Secretary-General of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC), Haitham Rahma, presented a report on the work of the General Secretariat to the General Assembly during its 60th regular session. The report highlighted the work of the General Secretariat and its role in supporting the political and legal activities of the SOC and its institutions.
Rahma emphasized that overthrowing the murderous Assad regime and holding its symbols accountable has been and will remain the main goal of the Syrian Revolution. He also stressed that the revolution will continue until it achieves freedom and democracy, and transition the country to a state of law and justice.
Rahma also highlighted the legal and administrative work of the General Secretariat, stressing the importance of strengthening institutional work and intra-Syrian communication, and providing services and support necessary for the SOC’s activities of departments, offices and committees.
Rahma gave an overview on the work of the SOC’s offices in rural Aleppo, stressing the need to continue strengthening the presence of the SOC in the liberated areas and developing administrative work there.
He underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination with the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit in all operational matters related to serving our people in the liberated areas and host countries.
