Vice President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) for Foreign Affairs, Abdulahad Astepho, presented his work report to the General Assembly at its 63rd meeting. The report detailed the work of the Department of Foreign Affairs, reviewing the meetings and activities that it carried out in the past two months.
Astepho also highlighted the activities and tasks accomplished by the Department, and talked about the preparations it is making at the political level, its keeping abreast of the local, regional and international events, monitoring the major challenges, identifying tools, and making recommendations and proposals.
Astepho gave an overview on the SOC’s contribution to finding solutions to the problems facing the securing of funds for education for Syrian Kurdish refugees in the Iraqi Kurdistan region. He also talked about the Department’s coordination with the Sports and Youth Commission in the Syrian Interim Government in order to prevent the Assad regime’s sports federations from participating in international sports and tournaments.
SOC’s member of the Department of Foreign Relations, Salim al-Khatib, read the report on the Department’s work in the past year. He detailed the diplomatic activities of the Department, most notably communicating with foreign missions to Syria, following up on the results of the Brussels Donor Conference, and communicating with Arab, European and US officials.
