The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) Youth Office met with Al-Shaam student volunteer team in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo. The meeting brought together SOC’s Vice-president Ruba Habboush and five members of the team.
The meeting came as part of a series of meetings that the SOC’s Youth Office has been conducting with the youth and student bodies in the liberated areas with the aim of keeping them posted on the political process and its developments.
Habboush begun the meeting with giving an overview on the SOC’s Youth Office, its activities and role in the liberated areas, as well as its efforts to empower the youth and encourage them to engage in political activities in view of their important role in building the future Syria.
The team also gave an overview on its mission and activities which aim to assist students in the liberated areas, shed light on the challenges they are facing, and qualify them for future work.
Members of the team highlighted the various volunteer activities they are carrying out to assist students, such as the “With You” and “Assist” campaigns, among many others.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate in the service of students and ensure the participation of the largest possible number of young people in meetings and seminars on the political process, as well as in the SOC’s activities in the liberated areas.
They also stressed the need to hold more meetings between the institutions of the revolution and its social base in order to encourage the youth to engage in political activities. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
