Vice-president of the Syrian Coalition Abdul Ahad Steifo said that the next round of negotiations in Geneva will discuss the political transition process set out in international resolutions on Syria.
“The priority now is to work out a negotiation strategy leading to a political transition,” Steifo said. He urged all opposition forces “to unite their efforts for the success of the next round of negotiations in order to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people; create appropriate conditions for the desired political transition; and establish a political system in which the rights of all Syrian citizens are guaranteed.”
Steifo called upon the international community to assume its responsibilities and press for the enforcement of international resolutions on Syria. He noted that the upcoming round of Geneva negotiations is a follow-up to the previous rounds, expressing hope that the negotiations will lead to a just solution in Syria.
