Salem al-Meslet, spokesman for the Syrian Coalition, said that the airstrikes carried out by the international anti-ISIS coalition against ISIS targets around the town of Kobane have so far provided only partial and temporary solutions to eliminate terrorism. Instead, Syria needs a radical solution to eradicate the terrorism practiced by the Assad regime and ISIS, while the military aid provided by the international community to the defenders of Kobane most likely will not yield tangible results as long as it is not framed within a clear and comprehensive plan. In fact, all the international community’s attempts to defeat terrorism in Syria will not succeed as long as they ignore the root cause of terrorism, namely the Assad regime which has been wreaking havoc and destruction for nearly four years.” Al Meslet also stresses the need to provide more support for the Syrian Coalition which represents the true principles of the Syrian revolution that aims to put an end to Assad tyrannical rule. More support is also needed for our efforts to form a national army that comprise all military formations committed to the principles of the Syrian revolution and to the elimination of all forms of terrorism in order to achieve the objectives of the Syrian people in freedom, justice and dignity.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
