Vice-president Nagham al-Ghadiri calls for stopping Iran’s recruitment of Afghan mercenaries to fight alongside the Assad regime, in a meeting with Afghanistan’s Consul in Turkey.
She emphasizes the need to educate the Afghan people about the reality of the Syrian revolution which broke out to restore freedom, dignity and for emancipation from tyranny. She stresses that the Iranian regime tries to mislead parts of the Afghan people by portraying the Syrian Revolution as an attack on the sacred shrines in Syria.
“Some of the Afghan mercenaries Iran has been sending to Syria are prisoners in Iran. The Iranian regime resort to shortening their sentences or issues them amnesty to send them to fight along the Assad regime.”
The Afghan consul in Turkey Abdul-Malik al-Quraishi said that the Afghan people view Syria and its people as an example of moderate Islam and the cradle of civilization, adding that “we hope the Syrian people regain freedom, security and peace, just as we wish this for ourselves.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
