Nora al-Ameer, vice president of the Syrian Coalition, said that the United Nations has failed to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged areas in Syria, calling for the immediate implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2165 concerning the entry of aid convoys and medical supplies to all besieged areas in Syria without the need to obtain the approval of the Assad regime. Al Ameer also calls for taking deterrent measures against the Assad regime for the wholesale massacres it has been committing against civilians, describing the brutal campaign waged by regime forces on the besieged areas as a genocide which is no less dangerous than the use of chemical and explosive barrels and the summary executions. Using starvation as a weapon of war to force the trapped civilians in East Ghouta and Al Waer to succumb is a crime against humanity that is being committed under the eyes of the international community.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
