Mouaffaq Nyrabia, the Syrian Coalition’s representative to Benelux and the EU, called on the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, to condemn the continued indiscriminate use of violence by the Assad regime and Russia carried out by its aircrafts against civilians in Syria.
Nearly 250 civilians, including 91 in east Ghouta alone, were killed in Syria over the past three days in airstrikes by the Russian and regime aircrafts on residential areas.
Nyrabia urged the EU to stand for human rights in Syria and to make all the efforts to guarantee the protection of civilians from further indiscriminate attacks by Assad and his Russian and Iranian backers.
“If the EU is unwilling to take such measures, then we call on our European partners to take unilateral action to ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with the Vienna Track and that those responsible for these heinous crimes are held to account,” Nyrabia added. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
