The Syrian National Coalition called on the international community to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its crimes against the peoples of the region, the latest of which was the downing of the Ukrainian plane by Iranian missiles.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the Coalition offered its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and said: “Our hearts go with the bereaved families who have endured some of the suffering millions of the Syrian people have been enduring despite the different circumstances.”
The Coalition said that the Iranian regime was forced to admit its responsibility for this catastrophe after many misleading statements.
“The Syrian people and the rest of the peoples of the region hope that the day will come when the Iranian regime and all the regimes and states that sponsor terrorism will be held accountable for the crimes they are committing against the peoples of the region,” the Coalition added.
The Coalition stressed that the international community is required to assume its responsibilities with regards to the crimes taking place in the region and beyond regardless of any considerations that empty international law from its meaning and content. It will be unacceptable to punish some criminals and terrorists and let others to carry on with their sabotage and crimes.”
“The Iranian people deserve salvation from the regime that has for forty years ruled the country with iron, fire, oppression, arrest, and executions and taking them towards a grim fate and endless wars. It spreads death and strife wherever its unholy tentacles can reach.” (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
