The Syrian Coalition condemned the bombardment being carried out by the Assad regime in rural Hama and Idlib on a daily basis. It called on the international community to maintain the Idlib agreement and uphold the ceasefire currently in place.
Local media outlets reported that the shelling killed two children and a woman as well as injured many others in the Ghab plain in western rural Hama in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
A civilian was killed and two others were injured in rocket and artillery shelling by the Assad regime forces that targeted 13 towns and villages in rural Hama on Tuesday. The Syrian Coalition called for the launch of a serious investigation into these violations and for holding all those responsible to account.
Local activists said that the Assad regime forces targeted many towns and villages in rural Hama with rockets and heavy artillery, including Kafarzeita, Lataminah, Kafranbouda, Qalet Al-Madiq, Jisr Beit Al-Ras, Ankawi, al-Hawija, al-Hawash, al-Sharia, al-Twainah and Tal Othman. Many injuries were reported.
Many civilians were also injured in rocket and artillery shelling by the Assad regime forces in the towns and Khan Sheikhoun, Al-Teeh, Jarjanaz, Baboulin and Tamana’a in southern rural Idlib.
Dozens of towns and villages in the provinces of Idlib and Hama have been subjected to relentless rocket and artillery shelling by the Assad regime resulting in many civilian casualties although the area is covered by the Idlib Agreement calling for a halt to shelling in the area.
During its European tour, the Syrian Coalition delegation raised the consequences of the Assad regime’s ongoing military escalation against civilians in Idlib. It stressed the importance of providing protection to civilians in the liberated areas to avoid a new humanitarian crisis and a new wave of refugees to neighboring countries.
