The Syrian Coalition condemned the heinous terrorist attack that targeted a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the French city of Nice on Thursday evening.
The Coalition extended its warm condolences to the families of the victims and wished the wounded a speedy recovery. It reiterated its solidarity with France and the French people in the face of terror targeting France’s security and stability.
The Coalition stressed that the Syrian people are best placed to understand the awful experience victims of terrorism go through as they themselves have been the victims of the most heinous crimes perpetrated by the Assad regime and its allies for over five years.
The Coalition stressed that such terror attacks make it imperative that all the international community reconsiders its policies in countering terrorism and realizes the grave risks of failing to adhere to the principles of human rights.
The Coalition added that such attacks are a direct result of the failure of the major powers to shoulder their responsibilities towards addressing the root causes of terrorism in Syria.
