Members of the Syrian Coalition’s presidential and political bodies met with representatives of friendly countries in the headquarters of the Coalition’s General Secretariat in Istanbul on Friday.
The meeting discussed the tragic situation in Aleppo and other besieged areas, the war crimes being committed by the Assad regime and its allies against civilians, and the outcome of the Coalition’s General Assembly latest meeting, most importantly its decision to improve performance through the expansion of the representation of women and the Turkman ethnic group in the Coalition.
The Coalition’s members slammed continued attempts by the Assad regime and Russia to disrupt all efforts to revive the cessation of hostilities agreement; lift the sieges; and deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in need with the aim of preventing any progress in the political transition.
Representatives of friendly countries strongly condemned the continued massacres by the Assad regime against civilians in Syria, stressing the need to stop the carnage in Aleppo and reach a truce to pave the way for the resumption of negotiations. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
