The Syrian Coalition’s General Assembly concluded its 45th regular meeting on Saturday during which it discussed the latest political and field developments in Syria, especially the serious military escalation by the Assad regime and Russian forces in Idlib province.
The Coalition stressed that the ongoing brutal bombing campaign should confirm to the international community that the regime continues to show utter disregard for the political process and political solution that is needed to stop the bloodshed and alleviate the suffering of Syrian civilians.
Members of the General Assembly called on the United Nations to condemn the intensified bombing campaign in Idlib and hold those responsible to account; refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court; preserve the Idlib agreement; and help reach a nationwide ceasefire.
The General Assembly decided to postpone the elections of a new presidential body, a new political committee, and new head of the Syrian Interim Government to the upcoming meetings scheduled for July due to the latest developments on the ground. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
