The Syrian Coalition condemns the massacre committed by regime forces against civilians in the neighborhood of Al Waer near Homs, where six civilians were killed and 40 wounded when regime forces targeted residential buildings with three ground-to-ground missiles. These ongoing massacres are designed to cover up the setbacks experienced by the Assad regime and the militias fighting alongside its side, and also the failure to achieve any significant military progress over the past six months. These cowardly massacres are part of the Assad regime’s desperate attempts to respond to the victories achieved by the Free Syrian Army on various fronts, most recently the liberation of Tal al-Harra in rural Dara’a. The Syrian Coalition had earlier released a statement calling for accelerating the arming of the Free Syrian Army and providing it with advanced weapons to counter the Assad regime and ISIS, warning of potential massacres against civilians in the town of Ayn al-Arab (Kobani). The president of the Syrian Coalition, his deputies and the Secretary General submitted reports on the results of the visits they made over the past few days, in addition to other reports raised during the meeting concerning the financial situation of the Syrian Coalition.
