The Syrian Coalition released a statement “congratulating the people of Kuwait as they celebrate the 53rd anniversary of their independence on February 25th, 2014. The State of Kuwait has been supportive of the Syrian revolution by both offering assistance to Syria’s people as well as providing humanitarian aid by hosting the Pledging Conferences for Syria. The Syrian Coalition also said that “we highly value the support of the government and people of Kuwait, which could only reflect Kuwait’s commitment to the Syrians’ right to self-determination and freedom. Our relationship with the State of Kuwait is a special one, and we are keen to keep it that way. The Syrian Coalition also “extends its deepest appreciation to the people and government of Turkey for all the humanitarian, financial, and relief support they have provided to the Syrian people during these difficult times. We highly value the outstanding generosity and gracious hospitality the Turkish people have shown to Syrian refugees as well as those living in Turkey outside of refugee camps,” denying reports that the Turkish government is putting pressure on the Syrian Coalition to move its headquarters to Cairo, saying that “these rumors are completely baseless and untrue.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
