The delegation of the Syrian Coalition headed by Ahmed Jarba met today with Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting discussed ways to ensure all kinds of support for the Syrian rebels. Jarba stressed during the meeting that “the Assad regime is still keen on wreaking havoc and destruction all across Syria, using internationally banned weapons, particularly chemical weapons over the last month in many parts of Syria. The Assad regime’s intention to hold presidential elections would eliminate all chances of reaching a political solution, a fact that we share with the international community.” The visit aims to ensure greater support for the Syrian people who are fighting dictatorship, and to strengthen the relations between the Syrian Coalition and the Arab and international parties. The meeting was also attended Farouk Tayfur, Nora Al Ameer and Abdul Hakim Bashar, Vice-Presidents of the Syrian Coalition, Badr Jamous, the Secretary General, and Ahmad Tomeh, interim prime minister, Asa’ad Mustafa, interim Defense Minister, Adib Shishakli, representative of the Syrian Coalition in the Gulf Cooperation Council and other members. The delegation will also meet with Prince Saud al-Faisal, the Saudi foreign minister, to discuss the recent developments in the Syrian situation. The visit to Saudi Arabia comes in a series of visits by the Syrian Coalition to the Arab Gulf countries. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
