Members of the Coalition’s political committee and the Coalition’s foreign missions in European and Arab capitals discussed the tragic situation in Aleppo. Secretary-General of the Syrian Coalition Abdel Ilah Fahd stressed the need to coordinate efforts with local and international organizations to alleviate the suffering of the people of Aleppo who were displaced from their homes.
Fahd said that Moscow cannot maintain its interests in Syria while killing Syrian civilians, calling on Russia to stop its bombing campaign on Syria as was required by all international resolutions. He added said that Russia violates the very UN resolutions it co-drafted and approved.
Members of the political committee met with officials in the Coalition’s foreign missions to develop the Coalition’s foreign relations. The Coalition announced the establishment of the Department of Foreign Relations as part of the current presidential plan aimed at following up on the regional and international developments as well as institutionalizing the efforts of the Coalition to serve the goals of the Syrian revolution.
Vice-president of the Syrian Abdul Ahad Steifo stressed the importance of political action in the next stage based on an organized relationship between the Syrian Coalition and its foreign missions and embassies abroad.
The meeting was attended by members of the Department of Foreign Relations, officials in the Coalition’s foreign missions and embassies, and members of the political committee.
Steifo pointed out that the Coalition is seeking to revamp its performance through careful analysis and study of the current situation to address the challenges and develop efficient plans of action on the political, diplomatic, and organizational levels. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Office)
