During an emergency session of its General Assembly which took place on July 20 and 21, the Syrian Coalition voted to dissolve the current cabinet of the interim government with a majority of 66 votes. The General Assembly stresses the need to “create new ground for work on the basis of moving the government into the interior as soon as possible, and employing Syrian revolutionary capabilities. The goal of the decision is to better serve our people and help them achieve the goals of the revolution.” The General Assembly thanked the interim cabinet for their efforts during the period of taking office. The interim government will continue as caretakers until the new government is formed. Nominations would be open for two weeks and a new government formed within 30 days. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
