Nasr al-Hariri, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, said that the failure of the international community to support the FSA and punish the Assad regime is responsible for the rise of extremism and the region. He called for “the unification of the efforts and closing the ranks in the battle against the Assad regime and the foreign militias fighting on its side. The international community will not succeed in eradicating terrorism till it addresses its root cause, namely the Assad regime as it poses a dire threat not only to Syria, but also to the entire region. The international community must also realize that a solution in Syria will not succeed unless it is comprehensive, and anything else, would only consolidate the stalemate in the Syrian conflict and would further prolong the suffering of the Syrian people.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
