The Syrian Coalition highly praised the Free Syrian Army groups for the liberation of the town of Jarablos from the ISIS terrorist organization. FSA fighters, backed by Turkish and international anti-ISIS forces, on Wednesday launched an offensive to capture the town close to the Turkish border. The FSA groups managed to take the town in around 12 hours, after which the FSA fighters set to clear the town from the mines and IEDs planted by ISIS militants.
The Coalition stressed that the Syrian revolution, with all its political, military and revolutionary forces, will continue to fight terrorism in all its forms. It called on the brotherly and friendly countries as well as the international community to step up support for the FSA to defeat the terrorist organizations and their sponsors, led by the Assad regime which is to blame for the spread of terror, chaos and destruction in Syria.
The Coalition also called on the FSA groups to protect civilians and ensure their return to their homes in Jarablos. It called on the Syrian interim government to expeditiously restore services and re-operate public institutions so that civilian life is restored in the town.
In addition to Jarablos, the Free Syrian Army groups captured the villages of Aljamil, Alhajila and the hills west of and overlooking the town of Jarablos.
Nine FSA and rebel groups participated in the battle to liberate Jarablos. The groups were Ahrar Alsham, Noureddine Zanki Movement, Failaq Alsham, Alshamiya Front, The Liberation Army, Sultan Murad Brigade, Suqqor Aljabal, the 51st Brigade and Almotasim Billah Brigade. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
