President Ahmad Jabra met with Dr. Walid al-Bunni, one of the components of the revolution. The meeting focused on the files that were discussed during the meeting of the General Assembly of the National Coalition. The meeting with Bunni is one in a series of consultations being made by the National Coalition with all components of the revolution in order to unify the political vision and review the demands of the Syrian people prior to the International peace conference in Geneva. The Syrian Coalition has already stipulated Assad’s departure as a prerequisite to participation in the conference, as well as the transfer of power with all its components and its organs and institutions to a transitional government and an end to the regime’s military operations in Syria. The Syrian Coalition is also requiring that a specific timetable be formulated for all stages of negotiation. Jarba listened to Dr. Bunni about the latter’s vision for the next phase and the importance of extensive preparation for the peace conference that is scheduled to take place as the next step forward. Both men agreed on the need to work to find a solution that will crown the sacrifices of the Syrian people with victory and guarantee them achievement of the objectives of the Syrian Revolution that begin with Bashar Assad stepping down.
