Fayez Sarah, member of the Syrian Coalition, casts doubts on Iran’s dismissing of reports that it is sending militias to fight alongside the Assad regime. “Iran claims that it is sending only military advisers to Syria, and to prove these claims Iran must submit lists of names of its military advisers. The Iranian regime is occupying Syria not only militarily, but also politically, culturally and even religiously. It has become clear that Iran’s grand strategy in the region is to dominate Syria and the neighboring countries even if this comes at the expense of the Syrian people.” Sarah also points out that the Iranian regime has formally become the main supporter of terrorism in the region, while the Assad regime has become the exclusive client of this commodity which he uses in his massacres to serve Khamenei’s colonial policies. Furthermore, the Iranians are overseeing the terrorism industry through sending their fighters to all Syrian cities, in addition to recruiting terrorist militias from Iraq and Lebanon. This has been lately confirmed by many sources that said the Iranian regime is recruiting Afghan militants to send them to Syria in return of high salaries.” In response to the Russian and Iranian calls for the resumption of the Geneva talks, Sarah stresses that these talks have laid bare Assad’s claims about its willingness to engage in a political solution, and proved that the threat of force is the only option through which Assad can be forced to negotiate. We are with dialogue, but provided that it is not a goal in itself, but a means to an end.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
