Najib Ghadban, representative of the Syrian Coalition to the United States, filed an objection with the United Nations for its agreement to host an art exhibition promoting the Assad regime and demanded that it be cancelled. In a letter directed to Yukio Takasu, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Management, Ghadban said that is inconceivable that the United Nations allow the hosting of an art exhibition that promotes a regime whose hands are stained with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. Agreeing to hosting such an exhibition means that the United Nations agree to the crimes committed by the Assad regime. We demand that it be cancelled as it only serves to further the Assad regime’s narrative and whitewash its tarnished image.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
