Head of the legal committee Haitham al-Maleh has set off on a tour of several European capitals to raise the Syrian issue again on the levels of human rights. He will make a quest for monitoring bank accounts of Syrian officials in Swiss banks and for reclaiming the looted money of the Syrian people, including deposits of the Assad family and all wealth that was stolen from the Syrian.
Maleh said he would travel to the headquarters of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to demand opening an investigation into the crimes against the Syrian people. “This is possible even before bringing the defendants to trial as this is within the purview of the ICC’s General Prosecutor,” Maleh said.
He stresses that “there is no hope for the Assad regime to survive. The Syrian revolution is going towards victory, a military victory before the political one as no regime in the whole world can fight an entire people.” (Source: Syrian Coalition + Al-Sharq al-Awsat)
