Spokesman for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet calls on the Arab League, the United Nations and UNRWA to put pressure on the Assad regime to allow the evacuation of civilians trapped in the Yarmouk Camp in Damascus, where clashes between regime forces and ISIS have recently escalated.
The Syrian Coalition hails the steadfastness of rebel fighters stationed inside the camp, as they defend civilians and abide by the principles of the revolution and the aspirations of the people of Syria, including the Palestinian-Syrians.
Meslet points out that the Assad regime continues to take civilians as hostages, and has recently given way to ISIS militants to infiltrate the besieged district in response to the progress rebels made on various fronts over past months.
He also said that ISIS elements entered the camp after passing through regime checkpoints, suffocating the camp for nearly three years and causing unimaginable suffering to civilians trapped inside. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
