On the first anniversary of the disappearance of human rights activist Razan Zeitoun and her colleagues, the Syrian Coalition reiterates calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Syrian abductees and the forcibly disappeared. Zeitoun, along with her fellow activists Samira al-Khalil, Nazim Hammadi and Wael Hamadeh, were kidnapped from the office of the Violations Documentation Center in the district of Douma near Damascus and were taken to an unknown destination. “We the hold the kidnappers full responsibility for the safety of the abductees, especially journalists and human rights activists, and warns of compromising their safety. We should admit that efforts that has so far made towards the issue of the abductees in Syria has do not live up to the level of their sacrifices. However, we vow that those responsible for these acts will be prosecuted and held accountable and that justice will be justice will be achieved.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
