Ambassador of the Syrian Coalition to Qatar Nizar Al-Hiraki participated in a conference organized by the Qatar Charitable Society under the title “The Humanitarian Crisis: The Reality of suffering and Size of the Response.” The conference, which aims to unite the efforts of the donors who support Syrian refugees, was attended by 50 international and regional organizations and international dignitaries.
Al-Hiraki praised the efforts of the Qatari government in general and civil bodies in particular efforts inside and outside Qatar for working diligently to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian refugees in all fields.
He stresses that these initiatives come at a difficult time when people turn to neighboring countries to escape the bombing, murder and suffering faced by Syrian refugees in shelters, especially with the approach of winter.
Abdullah Maatouq, envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said that the conference seeks to mobilize the efforts of humanitarian organizations and promote effective partnership, warning of a lack of funding for humanitarian operations which will have disastrous results.
