The Syrian Coalition said that the international community continues to fail to force the Assad regime to abide by the agreements reached and guaranteed by active players in Syria, most notably Russia.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Coalition reiterated condemnation of the continued failure to force the Assad regime and its allies to abide by these agreements. It also condemned the violations and crimes being committed by the Russian occupation forces and their continued bombing and the provision of air support for regime forces in violation of international agreements and resolutions.
The Assad regime aircraft bombed villages near the Haqqaf area in eastern rural Suwaidaa’ on Sunday, July 2, killing 16 people and injuring dozens more, including women. Meanwhile, intense bombing using barrel bombs and Russian airstrikes targeted the nearby Tal Asfar area.
Barrel bombs also hit Dara’a city and its countryside on Monday, especially the town of Naema. Regime forces also shelled Dara’a city and the village of Ayeb in the Lajat area with rockets.
The Coalition condemned these crimes and terrorist attacks, stressing that they constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, the “de-escalation zones” agreement, and the UN Security Council resolutions 2268 and 2254.
The Coalition called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards these crimes and the repeated use of barrel bombs, incendiary napalm and other internationally prohibited weapons. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department + Agencies)
