Spokesman for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet condemns the massacres committed by Assad’s air force yesterday and today in the towns and villages of Dara’a and Idlib. Activists said that dozens of civilians were killed and hundreds injured in a new wave of barrel bomb attacks on Idlib and Dara’a provinces and in artillery shelling on the towns of Zabadani and Douma in Rural Damascus.
Meslet slams the international community’s continued silence on Assad’s escalation of attacks on civilians, which are part of a wide campaign of revenge waged on entire Syrian territory with the aim of avenging its defeats, spreading chaos, preventing any aspect of life in the liberated areas, and creating the suitable conditions for the terrorist organizations to grow and flourish.”
He points out that the United Nations, as the organization responsible for preserving international peace and security, must immediately intervene to save the lives of Syrians and put an end to the atrocities committed by the Assad regime and ISIS.” (Source: Coalition)
